Howard – Bass & Vocals,

Howard has been playing music his whole life. Legend has it that his mother, a singer and piano teacher, played Mozart for him in the womb. He started with piano lessons at the tender age of 4, moved onto guitar as a teenager and played alto sax in his high school band. He played guitar in bands for decades before forming the initial Yonge Originals lineup in 2016 on guitar and keyboard. He had been dabbling in bass for many years but when Covid hit, he hunkered down in his pandemic bunker and dedicated himself to learning the instrument in more detail. With his migration to the “dark side” complete, when The Yonge Originals reformed in early 2023 he was a natural fit to be the new bassist.

Howard’s musical influences are far and wide but his favourite bassists are Les Claypool and Paul McCartney. He currently favours his F Bass BN5 through Bergantino amplification and can also be seen playing 4-string Stingrays and Fender Jazz basses.
